After graduating with a degree in Studio Art and Art History from Dartmouth College, Kelsey lived and worked on the east coast.
During these years she visited California and vowed to relocate there when she could.
Her dream materialized in 2012 when she moved to Sonoma and has been living and painting there ever since.
Kelsey’s abstract paintings evolve intuitively and spontaneously using multiple layers allowing for the excavation of color and texture.
Her intention is to create a sense of the harmonious whole from what might at first feel chaotic.
Her paintings involve an interplay of line, color and expressive mark-making, often with the addition of collage elements using her own mono prints and photographs.
In Kelsey's words "mixed media is flexible, magical and fun, a true adventure".
